i normally take a gerber BMF, it is big and heavy, but not to heavy, and a e-tool, and a wave, some times i take a camp axe but thats only 25% of the time.

MrLaxaddict1 on 23 August, 2010 at 9:57 am #

hey nutn you were talkin bout a whistle….my new pack has a little whistle built into the pack strap. very useful for emergency whistling

billywhiz2001 on 25 August, 2010 at 8:58 pm #

great collection of gear… can tell you’ve been doing this forever. Everyone should have a pealess whistle and a good mirror if they’re adventuring outdoors, and I like to carry a small lightweight roll of orange tape to leave a trail SAR can track just in case– if you have to move. Tying a lil piece on here and there increases your footprint when they’re searching. Also, if you’re disoriented and start seeing your tape again, you’re walking in circles. FYI for readers.
